Hailing from Washington, D.C., Julian Marshall is an African-American filmmaker who effortlessly fuses his love for art and design, athleticism, emerging technology, and political activism into powerful visual narratives. His diverse background and unique worldview have made him a sought-after creative force.

Julian discovered his passion for filmmaking growing up skateboarding in the nation's capital. He went on to study film at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he had the opportunity to work alongside iconic street artist Shepard Fairey at Obey Giant and renowned filmmaker Wes Anderson on the critically acclaimed film, Moonrise Kingdom.

At RISD, Julian directed OBEY THE GIANT, an award-winning narrative film delving into the early life of Shepard Fairey and the genesis of his Obey Giant street art campaign. This project marked the beginning of a dynamic career that has seen Julian develop feature films and helm commercials for an impressive roster of clients such as Google, Under Armour, Amazon, Ford, Intel, Spectrum, Toyota, Nissan, Jeep, Chase, Red Bull, HP, Citibank, Verizon, Bayer, BET, TNT, and Tidal.

In 2021, Julian's innate ability to thought-provokingly capture the human experience led to two Webby Award wins for his film, WE ARE GEORGE FLOYD. This poignant work offers a gripping and intimate portrayal of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, showcasing Julian's commitment to social justice and giving voice to those who often go unheard.
